The Trans-Local Conference on Transdisciplinary Arts 2023, “The Akha’s Art of Not Being Governed Beyond Zomia” was held in Singhaklai House, Chiang rai, Thailand, on 16th December 2023, as one of the special events of Thailand Biennale 2023.
The Conference was organised by Mr. Yuto Yabumoto, Director of the Zomia Pavilion, member of Production Zomia, Ph.D. course, Graduate School of Transdisciplinary Arts, Akita University of Art and I really enjoyed to participate this conferense as a guest speaker.
The talk was proceeded about the Ms. Busui Ajaw, a contemporary artist of Akha's latest works and how the Zomia concept can be enhanced in this globalizing world.
Through this experience, I once again understood that the concept of Zomia is necessary for the Pluriverse world that I aim for, and I am also strongly convinced that it can overcome the boundaries between architecture, art, and culture.
